Glass Factory Property Requirements

• The company plans to establish a container glass manufacturing facility to serve South Africa’s growing wine and spirits industries. The facility will produce high-quality, high-margin bottles, positioning the company as a niche, competitive alternative to the current monopolistic supplier in the Western Cape.

The following key milestones are necessary for the funding:

• Contractually securing or ownership of the land by the company for the facility’s construction.
• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval for the project from the Western Cape Government.

The glass making process is well understood with several leading European equipment manufacturers available to chose from.

The end- product will be geared towards high quality, high-margin bottles. The strategy includes replacing expensive premium imported bottles with local production as well as affording wineries the opportunity of exporting wine in glass packaging rather than in low margin bulk form. The Company has received letters of volume support from 71 local customers amounting to 90% of the plants proposed capacity. This investment opportunity is well timed and will be a high margin, cash generative and profitable niche manufacturing business targeting mainly wine & spirit bottle production.

Expansion prospects for future growth exist. Sustainability and CO2 reduction is top of mind for the company and customers. Installation of rooftop solar PV panels is included in the capex as well as planning for additional use of renewable electricity, use recycled glass cullet and possible long term use of natural gas and green hydrogen.
